I didn’t start in product design. I started as an athlete and an artist.

I grew up playing competitive tennis, where performance, focus, and feedback loops were everything. At the same time, I was always drawing, experimenting, and building things. That combination of performance and creativity still shapes how I approach design.

After earning a Division I tennis scholarship, I found my way into design through typography and architecture classes. I was drawn to the idea that you could create something from your mind that people all over the world could use. That curiosity pulled me into product design, and I’ve been working at the intersection of systems, people, and outcomes ever since.

Over the past 10+ years, I’ve designed products across consumer apps, enterprise platforms, and operational systems used by millions of customers and hundreds of thousands of frontline workers. I do my best work in complex, ambiguous spaces, especially where digital products connect to real-world environments and performance actually matters.

Most recently, I was Product Design Director at IONSPORT, where I helped evolve the IONCOURT app from a scoring tool into a connected sports ecosystem. By reframing the experience around fan engagement while supporting mission-critical workflows, we grew the user base by 50%+ in six months and expanded across mobile, smartwatch, TV, and in-venue experiences.

Before that, I led the UX transformation of Chick-fil-A’s kitchen operations software, used by 250,000+ team members across 2,500+ locations. The redesign improved production speed by 30%, reduced training time by 50%, and lowered errors by 40%, demonstrating how thoughtful design drives real-world performance.

Earlier in my career, I worked across a range of complex systems and industries, including modernizing AT&T’s flagship mobile app, designing financial platforms in highly regulated environments at Morgan Stanley following the E*TRADE acquisition, exploring future-state concepts inside State Farm’s innovation lab, and leading ad product innovation at The Weather Channel across web, mobile, and TV for 200+ global brands, earning OMMA and Smarties awards.

Across all of this, my focus is consistent. I simplify complex systems, align teams around clear outcomes, and design products that drive engagement, growth, and operational performance.

I’m especially interested in roles where product design plays a central role in shaping direction, performance, and outcomes.

I’m Nicole Beck, a creative mind who believes design is most powerful when it creates connection—between people, ideas, and technology.

Through my studio, Pine Allée Design Co, as well as direct and fractional roles, I partner with teams to turn complexity into clarity—crafting digital ecosystems that feel intuitive, inclusive, and alive.

My superpower is connecting dots others miss—translating ambiguity into clear product direction, aligning cross-functional teams around a shared vision, and designing systems that drive both meaningful user experiences and measurable business outcomes.

With over a decade of experience leading UX and UI across mobile, web, TV, and wearable platforms, I’ve worked at the intersection of design, strategy, and innovation for Fortune 500 companies and high-growth startups. I specialize in designing at scale—from vision through execution—building flexible systems that help teams move fast without losing craft or empathy.

I’m currently exploring both full-time product design opportunities and partnerships, with a focus on complex, high-impact problem spaces where thoughtful design can shape behavior, trust, and long-term product value.

Alongside client and product work, I’m also exploring passion projects at the intersection of landscape and gaming design—applying systems thinking to physical and immersive environments.
    • Product Design Director
      IONSPORT (contract)
      Jan 2025 - Oct 2025 (9 months)
Product Design Director and hands-on designer at IONSPORT, using AI-assisted design tools to accelerate research synthesis, prototype creation, and MVP delivery while leading strategic product decisions.

I transformed IONCOURT from a high-stakes scoring utility for officials into a fan-driven, multi-platform ecosystem, protecting mission-critical live workflows while unlocking 50%+ user growth in two quarters and establishing the app as the leading scoring and data platform in racket sports.

I led mixed-methods research across officials, fans, coaches, and organizers; aligned leadership, product, and engineering around a shared vision; and personally designed high-risk, core experiences where clarity, trust, and speed mattered most. AI-assisted tools allowed me to quickly turn insights into actionable flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs, accelerating iteration without compromising quality.

To scale with a lean team, I established lightweight design operations and a multi-platform design system across mobile, TV, web, smartwatch, and in-venue displays, tightly aligned with engineering workflows. This improved execution speed, reduced friction, and enabled enterprise-level quality under aggressive timelines.

As fan engagement grew, I drove ecosystem expansion with smartwatch scoring, smart venue displays, and CMS templates that let organizations embed live scores and stats—creating new entry points and monetization opportunities.

I lead by reframing growth ceilings as design problems, making tradeoffs explicit, protecting core users while designing for new ones, and staying close to the work.
    • Lead Product Designer
      Chick-fil-A (Stratfield Consulting)
      Apr 2023 - Dec 2024 (1 year 8 months)
Senior UX/UI Designer & Product Design Leader specializing in enterprise-scale operational systems. I transform complex workflows into simple, scalable, and accessible experiences that deliver measurable impact.

At Chick-fil-A, I led the UX transformation of kitchen operations for 250,000+ team members across 2,500+ restaurants. By embedding with frontline operators and running mixed-methods research, I redesigned legacy kitchen tools into a modular, accessible digital ecosystem, achieving:

      - 30% faster production
      - 50% reduction in training time
      - 40% fewer errors

Consistent, accessible interfaces across all locations

Key innovations included gamified training modules, real-time performance dashboards, and a re-architected breading station interface—all designed to improve adoption, accuracy, and workflow confidence. I facilitated workshops with 13 cross-functional leaders to align strategy, build reusable design systems, and ensure scalability without sacrificing operational nuance.

I thrive at the intersection of human-centered design, operational immersion, and systems thinking, turning high-pressure, complex workflows into intuitive experiences that scale, improve efficiency, and drive business results.
