    I am an experienced, talented, energetic and passionate individual with a clear understanding of the power of design. I possess flexibility to react to any creative challenge in a constantly evolving environment. Hundreds of my design collections have been successfully placed in the marketplace, many of which are patented.     KEY STRENGTHS

    • Experience in housewares and tabletop design: 6+ years experience as Design Director.

    Strong management and leadership skills: directed the Design Departments in several companies, promoting team work, training and managing junior designers by setting business goals and directives, evaluating performance based on achievements and identifying strengths and areas for improvement.

      Responsibilities:

      • Initiated ideas from raw sketches through technical drawing to final production. Managed the design process from beginning to end, focusing on price points and working closely with the manufacturing teams. Products were manufactured domestically at the Company’s own facilities using injected molded machines, to include a wide range of bath and kitchen related accessories as well as home organization products.
      • Using SolidWorks, a 3D CAD program, created parts and assemblies for production and prototypes.
      • Drafted detailed technical drawings, created 3D modeling files and rendered high quality presentation boards.
      • Designed products in accordance with packaging requirements and assisted in the packaging artwork.
      • Met regularly with important clients to exchange views about market trends, consumer needs and to present new product concepts.
      • Attended the annual International Housewares Show in Chicago. Designed, assembled, helped to manage the corporate show booth and interacted with customers during the show.

      Responsibilities:

      • Managed the Company’s Design Dept: hiring, training, supervising and evaluating the performance of a team of designers. Instilling a team work culture. Setting design guidelines and directions based on evolving market trends and customers’ needs. Managed relationships with external freelancers (both designers and engineers). Digitized the Department’s information and filing systems. Increased efficiency of design output by re-organizing internal processes.
      • Initiated ideas from raw sketches through technical drawing to final production. Presented final renderings to the CEO and advocated the designs.
      • Developed targeted products by focusing on price points and market trends, resulting in the creation of 200 new products since hired, of which most were patented.
      • Interacted with overseas vendors and suppliers. Inspected product samples, provided detailed reports and resolved any production or quality issues. Visited suppliers in China typically once a year.
      • Managed the Company’s patent protection process by coordinating with external legal counsel and by creating sophisticated patent drawings to maximize protection while saving costs to the Company. Since hired, over 150 design and utility patents were awarded.
      • Attended the annual International Housewares Show in Chicago. Designed, assembled and managed two show booths and interacted with customers during the show.
      • Attended the Housewares Fair and the Gift & Premium Fair in Hong-Kong and the fair in Canton, Guangzhou, China. Represented the Company and met with existing and prospect suppliers.
