Priscilla Khek

As an associate designer, I am responsible designing juniors' swimwear. The brands I work on include Hobie Juniors and Hobie Girls. I work with the merchandiser, pattern maker, graphics team and sourcing department. My tasks include using Photoshop and Illustrator to manipulate CADs and prints,creating trim and fabric developments, submitting lab dips, sample and artwork requests, trend research, approving trims and fabrics, sending style developments to sourcing companies, using the NGC system to keep track of styles and codes, creating line sheets for each season, scheduling and attending fit sessions, sending fit samples to quality control, and communicating with all departments and outside companies involved in the design process.

I am responsible for opening and closing the store, executing transfers from store to store, merchandising the floor, maintaining monetary responsibilities, managing sales associates, knowing product knowledge, selling to meet a monthly personal and group sales goal, developing a strong clientele base, and providing excellent customer service to all clients.

I am responsible for assisting the Head Designer, Associate Designer and Assistant Designer with all design-related tasks such as line sketching handbags, creating mood boards and color boards for discussed creative directions, creating trend reports for the previous and current seasons, using the trend forecasting system to research trends organizing seatbelt swatches, organizing all samples and trend boards, setting up design meetings, creating paper prototypes of handbags, superimposing prints onto handbag silhouettes, and performing competitor research.

I was providing the design department with mood boards, an organized textile showroom, and helped organize all samples. I also provided assistance to the marketing department with merchandising the website, pulling needed items for a photo shoot and prepping those items. The e-commerce department also had me organize and input invoice information. I also worked the warehouse sale that the company hold every summer and winter.
