Address panel and front cover of a proposed direct-mail brochure for The Sun. A version quite similar to this was mailed (and performed reasonably well), but I've always felt it paled a bit in comparison to this version in terms of the strength and impact of the chosen photos.

Exterior, four-panel roll-fold self-mailer. An early effort for The Sun.
Interior, four-panel roll-fold self-mailer.
Exterior, seven-panel roll-fold self-mailer. This piece was ridiculously successful; frequently pulling a 3.5% response rate. It remained the control piece against which others were tested for a good number of years.

Direct Mail

The Sun magazine, being ad-free, was almost entirely reader-supported. Direct-mail solicitations for new subscribers were projects of paramount importance. The print run on these pieces varied between 275 and 350M per run.
