Rhian Owen

I manage a large number of accounts, primarily River Island childrenswear, and both woven and jersey styles: Mini Girls (0-5 years) Tops, Mini Girls Bottoms, Mini Girls Dresses, Older Girls (5-12 years) Dresses, Girls Trousers/Skirts, Girls Tops, Girls Outerwear. I also manage and design for Womenswear Skirts, Womenswear Trousers and Womens Outerwear and Womens Casual Tops. I also have accounts with Next Maternity, ASOS Jersey Tops and ASOS Special Projects, collaborating on a project for Disney. I liaise with the China factory on a daily basis, confirming exit dates and developing trims, fabrics and styles for the customer. Tasks include CAD's, sourcing fabrics and trims, liaising with external print houses, liaising daily with buyers, meetings with buyers, actioning lab dips, producing costings, presenting/negotiating sea and air prices and delivery dates with customers, problem solving for customers, liaising with pattern cutters, machinists sealer/graders and the production team, sending fabric and trim packs, briefing the graphic designer on a daily basis, sending out samples to the buyers, creating catwalk reports and competitor research reports for meetings. Here, I also manage a design assistant and a graphic designer.

- Awarded 1st - Winner of the WSA Nancy Belfour Award in recognition of the high standard of work submitted for the Final Project. Final Collection selected for the Winchester School of Art Future Feast Press Show at the Vinyl Factory, Soho. As a result, images of my work were featured in Idol and Vogue magazines, 2015 - Enliven Fashion Design Competition - Highly Commended Competition backed by Philip Treacy and aimed at designers at all levels in the South.
