IDEO, London - working with John Stoddard, I designed an emergency telephone for Lucent Technologies, USA.
Used perhaps twice a year, the product would enable the operator to continue taking customer calls manually, keeping the loss of business to a minimum whilst the system was down.
Images show sketch development then four alternative design concepts, which were developed into full size, non-functional, block models. These were used in focus group research.
