Skills, tasks, and responsibilities:
• Responsible for creating artworks for a variety of communication materials, including Advertising, Branding, and Marketing projects/campaigns, always within clients' guidelines.
• Ensuring that all artwork work is delivered according to brand and corporate identity guidelines.
• Adapting artwork based on approved presentation and feedback from clients.
• Creating print-ready artwork for use by various departments.
• Preparing layouts and preparing files for printers.
• Working on short deadlines and fast turnaround times.
• Constructing master templates artwork for use throughout the organisation.
• Working on a variety of different projects covering typography, retouching designs, and layouts.
• Create and contribute to the design and delivery of all collaterals from the development stage through to artworking.
• Develop design projects to a high standard being responsible for part of the design brief including liaising with the Project Manager/Creative /Art Director and requesting advice, proof checks or stage development meetings if necessary.
• Re-touch images for multiple contents.
• Understand web standards to support designers in creating elements for varying users, bandwidth and platform requirements.
• Execute multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines.
• Assist in project planning to ensure deadlines are realistic and achievable.
• Able to quote accurate timings and to keep to them.
• On-boarding and support for all freelance artworkers.
• Oversee quality control of artwork before it leaves the department.

currently working in Firefly Communications, a Doha-based media house that publishes a number of magazines – right from business, automotive and construction to culture and fashion industry – both in English and Arabic. Some of its well known titles include The Edge, Sur la Terre, Qatar Construction News (QCN) and Volante. Firefly also has a large number of corporate clientele for whom it brings out in-house magazines, annual and sustainability reports, besides others.

I am being the final approver of all the publications finalize every production work before it goes to print. This includes doing color correction, image retouching and manipulation, overall quality control, and printing a dummy copy for printer.

I review all final layouts and make valuable contribution to designing process, by offering technical guidance to improve the overall design, image quality and presentation of projects.

I have an eye for detail to ensure all the materials and files that go to printers are 100 percent error-free and technically correct. This follows creating final CD for printer, or uploading files to FTP if required. As part of my job, I coordinate with printers and production agencies to fine-tune all aspects of printing such as equipment, papers, inks and the required styles for high quality presentation.

I maintain, update and archive all design files and data to ensure any material received from clients, or that is dispatched elsewhere, is clearly marked and available for review at any moment of time.

As a final artwork and production artist, I was responsible for preparing and finalizing marketing materials for production including updating and finalizing text besides doing overall quality control. The position demanded strong ability to make accurate type corrections, accurate proofreading skills, as well as an eye for kerning, alignment and positioning of type.

I had to review final layouts and suggest improvements if needed before creating CDs of electronic files for shipment to printer or uploading to FTP. It was my responsibility to create technically correct and precise files for specified media. I also had to look into technical details of printing such as chemical check for separation to attain best quality films/plates for superior results. I used to give final approval to the press.
