Hello, my name is David Lee.

I am a Korean American industrial designer. I graduated from Rhode Island School of Design in 2012, and I have had various design career in LG and in Design Mall.

I am not currently looking for a full time industrial designer position where I can both learn product planning strategy, and offer my knowledge in design. Although my current location is in Seoul, South Korea, I am interested to learn about the opportunities to work for companies located in the United States for I am a US citizen.

My past experience in design includes outdoor and indoor furniture, lighting, space craft, transportation, home appliances, and smart wearable goods.

Based on these experiences, I came up with four preferences that I have in design field.

First, I am interested in technology. I have a good understanding of the current technology, and manufacturing processes. Raised from an engineer family, I have engineer-like mind and it reflects my design. Also in RISD, I got trained to handle both hand tools and machine tools. After a technician level of training, I always think of products in the manufacturing point of view.

Second, I am interested in small things.

Because I like to pay attention to details, my preference in design leans toward smaller objects.

Small things could also be described as personal goods.(personal electronics, hand tools, hand held products, and so on.)

Third, I am interested in sustainability.

I care about the Earth. I believe sustainability do not just start on the shelf; rather, it starts as the product is made. Considering how the product is made makes difference in design and will effect how the users enjoy and dispose the product.

    Finally, I like teaching.

During my school year I have been a teaching assistant, a Sunday school teacher, and a mentor.

These experiences, and relationship I have built with my students and friends, made me realize that I like teaching. In a team project, this skill is effective in guiding and uniting the team to always be on the same page.

During my free time, I like to watch movies, take landscape pictures, draw, paint, write poems, and play the guitar.
