Shannon Bland

I’m a creative focusing in graphic design. I obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in Visual Communications and Digital Media Art from Bowie State University. I would describe my work as fresh, fun, and versatile as well as functional. I aim to always serve a purpose, whether that purpose is to promote and persuade or educate and encourage. I continually strive for my work to have meaning. My creative process usually involves me thinking of a subject or theme that interests me. I then look to outside sources such as advertisements, photographs and other artists for inspiration. Then I plan and sketch out ideas. Although, I don’t always sketch on paper. Sometimes I map out my plan by positioning objects together right in Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop; creating somewhat of a digital sketch. I also maintain a more traditional portfolio that demonstrates my skill and interest in painting.
