I design marketing solutions for small businesses and non-profit organizations. I help them define their goals, personality and audience, and then teach them how to establish a dialogue with the public by developing marketing strategies and designing visual communication tools that can help ensure success for years to come. My almost 30 years of design experience straddles the divide between traditional and digital mediums giving me a varied and comprehensive understanding of how connect to people through art.

The immensely valuable management skills acquired in these courses gave me better insights into the important role visual communication plays in a successful business alongside other critical factors such as project management, human resource development, and business laws and ethics.

Associate Visual CommunicationSinclair Community College1995 - 1998As computers started changing the landscape of the design industry, I decided to further my education with an associate degree in Visual Communication. Employer funding for my courses was disrupted by a corporate buyout when I had but three classes left to earn my degree.

Certification Graphic IllustrationATI - American Trades Institute1992 - 1993Trade skills education "old school" style. Desktop publishing wasn't a thing yet so I learned how to do all design tasks "by hand". I took photos with film and developed images in a darkroom, performed color separations manually, and resized artwork using a pre-press camera the size of a small compact car. Clip-art was still cut from paper with scissors and "pasted" to a physical artboard with tape or glue. There was no "undo" function; screwing up often meant starting over.
