Sherry Jiekun Qian

Sherry Jiekun Qian is an industrial designer currently based in New York City. She studied industrial design for her undergraduate in China before earning a Master of Fine Arts in Industrial Design from Rochester Institute of Technology. While completing her Masters, she traveled to Denmark to participate in the Scandinavian Culture & Furniture Design program which expanded her multidisciplinary knowledge in design and provided a multicultural perspective. Sherry relocated to New York City following her graduate studies to work at Lixil Water Technology, a kitchen & bath design company where she contributes to design research, new product lines, innovation concepts and branding/packaging.



Sherry is the recipient of multiple industrial design awards including the A’Design Award, Good Design Award, and German Design Award. She has also made several press appearances showcasing her designs, in addition to having her work featured in exhibitions such as the Milan Design Week. To cultivate her passion for design process and design thinking she has written and published three industrial design textbooks for undergraduate/graduate industrial design majors . With the experience of designing products in different categories and working with cross-functional teams, Sherry has a deep understanding on design, marketing, manufacturing, branding and sustainability. Sherry believes we can make the world a better place with thoughtful design.
