About
My introduction to the world of Graphic Design began in 2005, when I completed a Diploma in Information Technology at a business college in Brisbane. I was keen to enter the work-force as soon as possible, so I accepted a role as an apprentice in my home-town of Warwick. Here, I was industry-trained in the areas of Graphic Design and Pre-press operations. This work was invaluable as it gave me the confidence to move forward and accept the role of Head of Graphics at a major printing company on the Gold Coast.
Within a creative industry like Graphic Design, I found it imperative to move on and expand my expertise. On this basis, I accepted the role of Head of Graphics/Production Manager at a large commercial print company in Townsville, North Queensland. I occupied this position for two years, after which time, I decided it was time to satisfy my other desire in life, which is to travel.
In April 2013, I arrived in the United Kingdom and spent the greater part of last year travelling. At the beginning of 2014, I accepted a short contract position in Kentish Town, London. In this position, I was head of Graphics and Digital Print Operations. Given the eight years I have worked in the Graphic Design industry, I consider I have amassed a great deal of experience in all aspects of graphic design and digital print operations. -

Certificate 3 - Graphic Pre Press Graphic Pre PressSouthbank Institute of Technology2006 - 2010Part of my 4 year apprenticeship was attending Southbank Institute of Technology to complete my industry training modules each year. During my time here, I was invited to attend the World Skills competition for apprentices. I was unable to attend due to timing difficulties.

Diploma of Information Technology (Multimedia Integration) Information TechnologyMartin College, Brisbane, Australia2005 - 2006Martin College is a specialist training facility. I undertook a Diploma of Information Technology, graduating with top marks. Part of the course, was a multimedia integration, where I first started learning the Adobe Creative Suite.

The company specialised in invitation work, but also was very well known for the quality of design and print offered. A wide variety of work could be performed here with a full graphic studio, a digital print department and a offset print department.

I was bought in on a short term contract, and my roles included designing artwork, money handling, digital printing, computer maintenance, networking and customer service.
