Class Glass: Creating an Art Education Tool
For a two quarter long senior capstone class (ME 216B & 216C), we were tasked with developing a product from inception to distribution. We decided to tackle art education and carried out conceptual design, needfinding, rapid prototyping, user testing, manufacturing, packaging, distribution, and grant funding. Our tool is two clear pieces of material that a student or teacher can insert their artwork in. This allows for more of a focus on presentation and professionalism during development of the work. In addition, this allows other students to give better critiques of the work by drawing/writing their suggestions on the physical artwork itself (it can be erased afterwards while maintaining the original artwork). This also allows for the teacher to teach more effectively as well. It was very well received.
