I, Soojin Kim, am an industrial and UX/UI Designer in San Francisco Bay area, currently working for Next Experience Display Lab, Samsung Research America, as an industrial designer intern, who are seeking for creating fun and pleasurable THINGS.
I've in the art field for about 15 years which is over half of my entire life and haven't lost my passion in design. Graduating from Korea University with Bachelor of Fine Art in Industrial Design as the Summa Cum Laude in 2012.
I went to University of Cincinnati for a Master of Design degree, expecting this summer. In this curriculum, I extend my capability to interaction design, also developing skills and knowledge on product design and UX design. As results of my efforts, I won a finalist at TEI 2015' Student Design Challenge with JA, a haptic GPS navigation in Stanford, 2015, and also won the 3rd place in design at 2014 PACE Global Forum supported by GM in Italy, 2014.
My long professional experience in design & arts area and my interest in craft, assembling a computer and handling difficult computer software enables me to equip various skills for information visualization, product design and design research methods, allowing me to react this rapidly changing world appropriately.
Now, my ultimate goal is to be a FUN DESIGNER who makes FUN THING for everyone!
