U plug

The U-Plug aims to enhance the functionality of the electrical plug by reducing the overall number of parts while maintaining safety and ease of use. Besides flexing to fit a variety of outlets, the universally adaptable design also doubles as a socket for another like-plug and provides a safer, tactile grip that can be unplugged with a single finger. Less parts means it’s also cheaper to produce and replace ////// featured on:

  • quite interesting...why do u need to plug another plug behind it?

  • nice one...may be because of pulling angle; the threads will get damaged..at least in Indian scenario..but great concept :)

  • well sandip.... in some cases u hav only one female pin ...but multiple appliances ...so in order 2 connect multiple products sometime u may need a modular design(in male pin)

  • sudhanwa....actually i wanted 2 force the user 2 pull the plug by holding it(the plug, by using some kind of product semiotics) ..but not the wire ....i also did a small user survey after making it..and the results were nice ...they all handled it as i wanted .....again, about the wire ..even if u pull it by holding the wire..it ll get damaged in a very long period...may b in a yr or 2...and that i think is a really gud time duration 4 a product which ll cost less than 5 rs.

  • connecting another 2 pin behind it...shall increase the electrical load and hence would heat up the main plug...however, the split pin looks cool :)
