As the Grant Coordinator of a $600,000 federally funded grant, the objectives were to define a pilot program that would create measurement tools to assess the quality of services and facility conditions of annex workforce development centers that could be utilized within any given state. Seven states and eight contractors located throughout the United States were involved in a consortium effort.
Responsibilities:
• Mediated and maintained communications, consensus, and awareness by working directly between the following parties:
– Grant Officers from the United States Department of Labor (USDOL)
– Louisiana Secretary of Labor
– Representatives from seven participating states
– All contractors acquired
• Processed the procurement of vendors and services through RFIs and RFPs
• Produced scheduled progress reports
• Monitored and maintained contractors’ performance criteria
• Coordinated and moderated consortium events, travels, and meetings
Contribution:
• The project was included in the United States Secretary of Labor’s 2003 report briefs and was a presentation topic at USDOL’s 2003 Innovations Conference held that July. The initial phase of the project concluded in July 2003 and the final proposal developed was given consideration for application on a national scale.
