The 6 month Diploma Project with Ethicus, a brand promoting ethical and sustainable textiles in Pollachi, Tamil Nadu, gave me the opportunity to work closely with jacquard handloom weavers to develop a collection of saris in organic cotton. The collection, titled 'Athangudi', was inspired by the rich and vibrant Chettinad culture and heritage, while giving a contemporary twist to traditional techniques, patterns and motifs.

This 2 month internship at Ritu Kumar, one of India's leading fashion houses was an opportunity to work and learn in an established setup. The project was to develop samples and silhouettes using the vast resources like hand and machine embroidery, dyeing, stitching, etc. which the setup had to offer, for the Spring Summer 2013 line of the sub brand Label.
