Commercial design engineer position during MSc Innovative Engineering Solutions degree scholarship at the University of Derby.

Wares are a product design agency that specialise in concept design and product development. Offering services from concept visualisation to prototyping and production wares believe successful product development is all about collaboration. With an established network of industry experts the team use their experience to successfully take many of their own ideas to market in addition to client work. As part of the product design team I worked on a number of internal exploratory projects alongside client work- roles included conducting research and studying market trends as well as producing prototypes and concept validation models.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Research and studying of market trends
- Producing prototypes and concept validation models
- Exploring and developing design ideas through to workable proposals

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to articulate and communicate ideas effectively
- High degree of verbal and written communication skills
- Good knowledge of workshop machinery / Strong model making skills
- Ability to work to tight deadlines prioritising multiple jobs whilst retaining high standards
- Good working knowledge of SolidWorks, Illustrator, Photoshop
