TONY D. LOCKETT
I'm a freelance graphic designer/abstract artist.
I was born July 22, 1981 in St. Louis, Missouri to Regina Davidson and Albert Lee Lockett. My mother a Nurse; nurtured me in the direction of an artist, by supporting my dreams and fueling them by purchasing me items like art supply kits, drafting tables for drawing and even buying me a camcorder as a pre-teen (in an era before cameras were so common). My father a rock solid worker at Daimler Chrysler for over 30 years, only to realize his true passion as an artist only years before he passed away. I have had a passion for art since the release of the 1988 American fantasy comedy "Who Framed Roger Rabbit". I started out re-creating comic book characters from the movie by turning them into more urban street characters, by adding gold chains and backwards caps. From that, I grew to develop an urban/graffiti style of art derived from my cultural experiences growing up in the inner city.
Studied Graphic Communications and Design at Saint Louis Community College.
My mission is to capitalize on the growing art & entertainment market locally and on a national level, through production and promotion of quality art & entertainment projects. My focus is to transform concepts, ideas, illustrations, and dreams into reality.
I have worked as a freelance graphic designer since 2007. I have a focus in Graphic Communication [bar/restaurant event flyers, fundraiser graphics, birthday invites, web ads & album artwork] .
Since 2010 I have been focusing on my fine art, specifically abstract and graffiti style paintings.
I have designed this site to display some of my most recent projects.
