PROJECT:
ACHIEVEMENTS:
Our team developed an efficient plan for the bronchoscopy procedure which will save $800/month and reduce the lead time by 90 minutes for a local hospital in Rochester, NY.

Worked on optimizing the cancer diagnosis (bronchoscopy) procedure. The problem statement being, "Delays in bronchoscopy procedure, patient recovery and discharge times leads to late clinic start times, nurse overtime and patient dissatisfaction."

HOW WE PROCEEDED:
We used lean six sigma tools like SIPOC chart, Fish-bone diagram, Waste elimination chart, Swim lane flowchart, Project charter, Paired comparison chart, Weighted voting chart, Affinity diagram, Brainstorming and Gantt chart.

After careful analysis, we came to the conclusion that the patient preparation, room preparation and the recovery and discharge times should be the focus of the problem. Furthermore, using the "Cause and effect" diagram, brainstorming and Gantt chart, the problem was able to be dissected even further.
