Ottawa Embassy Renovation / Addition

Client: Unnamed Embassy
Firm: J.L. Richards & Associates

The $5M redevelopment of this Ottawa Embassy will allow the Client increased space for growing their staff complement and hosting capabilities as well as increasing security.

The design of the building demolishes most of the former Embassy building, retaining two of the street-facing heritage facades as per the City of Ottawa's requirements. The new facades of the building utilize elements in keeping with the style of the older buildings of this heritage neighbourhood, including matching brick and stone accents. A new, modern curtain-wall clad entrance provides a distinct new entry, while providing a clear division between the old and new facades.
