Highways for LIFE

Highways for LIFE was a program without further funding and we were archiving just a smaller portion of the pre-existing content. While content was being scrubbed, the URL of each page was also changed to help make better sense and organization. This was my second project for the Federal Highways Administration. Having had a better sense of my skill-level and trusting my ability to understand the client and get the job done, my manager asked me to take charge of the entire project from design mockups to development.

The design of this site was inspired by www.toyota.com, ww.washingtonpost.com, and www.nytimes.com. The background color of each page is an off-white, the same color the Washington Post use on their website. The navigation was inspired by Toyota’s site. The lines separating sections of the page were inspired by The New York Times. The reason behind these choices is to pick something simple and appear ageless while in keeping with the current trend.
