    Biography

Design manager and professional creative consultant with an international career of leadership, art direction, graphic / web design and digital illustration. Business strategist for visual marketing and brand development. Recognized in published books, journal articles and awards.

Mr. William (Bill) Jones resides in Brooklyn, New York as a digital artist and freelance graphic designer. Mr. Jones has managerial and considerable technical expertise in the areas of digital technologies, design, fine arts, consulting and teaching new media skills internationally. He also travels throughout the United States providing digital art lectures, presentations and exhibits.

Currently, Mr. Jones is a New York City-based design manager and an adjunct computer professor at two local colleges. He served as a Training Specialist for the US Department of Homeland Security / Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) where he managed projects and taught the staff

software usage and Information Technology. He holds a Master degree in Design Management from Pratt Institute and a Bachelor degree in graphic design from Kansas City Art Institute.

William (Bill) Jones served in Ghana, West Africa as a university lecturer of computer graphics, design and illustration. In addition, he was a marketing consultant for the Pan-African festival (Panafest 2001) and other national businesses. While living in Ghana, he also traveled to other African countries including Togo, Benin, Tanzania and Kenya. He was inspired from living in Africa to share his experiences through photo-documentation and digital illustration. The illustrations were created to reveal the vibrant spiritual energy he witnessed from numerous sacred, social and cultural rituals and ceremonies.

A multi-media and digital art based project developed from his artwork using West African, East African and Brazilian images. This project reached completion while in residence as a Visiting Postgraduate Researcher (2003-04) by the Center for Black Studies Research at the University of California, Santa Barbara. In March 2007, his art was featured on the cover of AfroGeeks: Beyond the Digital Divide, a research publication on information technology and African Diaspora cultures. In May, he exhibited at DanceAfrica 2015 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music featuring Brazil’s Balé Folclórico da Bahia.
