Senior Goldsmith. Responsible for all jewellery related repairs, remounts, remodels and stonesetting.

Duties at Hilson include the following - The manufacture of items from first principles, all aspect of repairs, including remodelling, manufacture /fabrication, stone setting covering various styles - claw, channel, flush, pave, bezel and tension. Ring sizing, full and partial shanks, rebuilding/ retipping claws, cleans and checks, use of rhodium plating and polishing. Liaising with colleagues regarding all aspects of jewellery - repairs, redesign, resizing, deadlines and estimates of time and materials required and communication with suppliers. Communicating directly with customers on the shop floor, telephone or email and social media to offer consistent quality service throughout. Bespoke work - through consultation, sketches and photographs, liaising with customers designing and fabrication of jewellery often from first principles to an agreed design often utilising customers materials or stones in combination with new materials/stones etc to complete the jewellery to the customers wishes.
