Hi! I'm Brittany Dexter and I am the Design Director at Cincinnati Magazine. I strive to get the most out of life, and always keep a smile on my face. I'm a reliable worker who collaborates well with teammates and enjoys teaching others. Handling multiple projects at a time while simultaneously managing and overseeing 7 other designers has challenged me to be very strategic and efficient. I am always looking for more efficient processes in both mine and my department's workflows so that we can maximize our design time and maintain high quality work. I have experience working within a variety of brands, both for in-house and client publications. I love learning new skills and try to find time to continue improving and broadening my design skillset.

Activities included a 10-week travel quarter through Europe, Teacher’s Assistant for Freshman Digital Design course, AIGA student chapter treasurer, Cincinnatus Scholar, Engineers Without Borders member (Design & Education committees), Adopt-a-Grandparent program, and Destination Imagination.

Design DirectorCincinnati, OHOct 2011 - Present (9 years 11 months)Started as a junior designer and eventually ascended to Associate Art Director (2015), Art Director (2016), and current position of Design Director (2018). Act as head of art department, managing project assignments of art directors, overseeing all visuals in monthly and ancillary publications as well as consulting on Cincinnati Magazine-branded ads, event collateral, and digital needs. Manage art department budgets, assist in new client proposals, and meet with new clients to help kick off new projects. Contribute to monthly issues, ancillary publications within Cincinnati Magazine brand, and custom publications for clients. Design covers, feature packages, provide art direction at photo shoots, assign illustration jobs to freelancers, and create icons and illustrations. Support CM events by creating design collateral including programs, tickets, signage, e-blasts, ROS ads, etc.
