    Bio

Donivon is finishing his BS in Industrial Design at Appalachian State University. He has completed an internship with ASU sports marketing, and a design internship with the trade floor furniture manufacturer SBFI in Asheville, NC. One of Donivon’s greatest strengths is his ability to work through the concept phase of a project. His designs are dynamic and goal oriented, making him a valuable asset in group settings where concepts are interpreted and evaluated by others.

    Philosophy

I believe a more sustainable way-of-life and efficient living should be the driving force behind design. A functioning and life-sustaining future relies on the products being made today. With a design mindset, room for improvement can be seen in everyday products. Design should inherently be limitless because it is from the mind. With our minds we can push the boundaries of possibility and without pushing these boundaries we will never develop new technologies and products.

  • Education
    • BS - Industrial Design Industrial and Product Design
      Appalachian State University
      2011 - 2016
I began my college education in 2011 as a Business Economics Major. Needless to say it was not for me and I moved on to Industrial Design and I have absolutely loved it. I enjoy being creative and using my mind and body to design and build products. Since I changed my major, I will be at Appalachian until Spring of 2016.

    • Design Intern
      SBFI
      Asheville, NC
      May 2015 - Aug 2015 (3 months)
I worked as a student design intern for SBFI working with SolidWorks to help the company create a list and database of standardized part drawings for their future projects. I have not done much concept work, but I have been learning a lot about SolidWorks and the multiple assets it has in a business setting. Real world experience is like nothing else. I have learned a lot from all of the hands-on experience.
