"Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler."
As a designer, I feel this statement should be applied to every object. In order to create a successful product, it must be so transparent that it quickly conveys its purpose. There is a fine line between creating an object that is simple enough to effectively perform its function without creating an object that becomes simplistic.
