Take high end custom residential cabinetry designs from paper to 3D model, to machine with use of Microvellum cabinetry and casework software. Designs are submitted by clients to our estimator and sales specialist in a variety of ways, from hand sketched elevations to fully annotated sets of architectural plans. My role specializes in turning these drawings into 3D models and drawings for review, and ultimately exported as Bill of Materials and cut sheets for our CNC machinery. I then assist the shop carpenters and installers with any questions that may arise and act quickly to remedy any issues that may arise.

Manage large, custom commercial millwork projects for corporate clientele including Meijer. From kick off to shipment, tasks included attending on-site management meetings, taking field laser measurements, creating millwork 3D models according to architectural drawings on Microvellum, and sending those generated cut sheets to multiple CNC machines for manufacture. Design and build custom freestanding and architectural furniture for commercial and residential markets throughout the midwest. Created a catalog of furniture styles capable of being customized online for maximum ability to fit clients' space and style. Created business relationships with retailers and fabricators to maximize efficiencies and grow sales. Rivertown Woodcraft is also Grand Rapids' only woodworking focused maker-space allowing members the ability to use the woodshop on nights and weekends for their own projects. RW is active in the community introducing young kids to the craft through birdhouse and tool tote DIY kits woodworking classes and offering free scrap wood to little builders. Accomplishments and Notable * Designed & built the Sovengard, voted Best Interior Renovation by the Neighborhood Business Alliance in 2016. Designed hardwood tables, bar areas, cubby walls, and upholstered steel and hardwood benches. Worked cross-functionally with steel fabricators, upholsterers, and general contractors to hit deadlines and design goals. * Designed and built merchandise walls for Eastern Kille Distillery. Engineered walls for space design and storage, while maintaining good lighting distribution and floor plan layout. * Develop processes for high volume product manufacturing within our design and manufacturing constraints. These types of projects included 750 bourbon barrel stave boot heels for Wolverine Worldwide 1000 Mile Boots. * 1st place choice by Clint Harp from HGTV's Fixer Upper in "Check it out Clint" contest.

Created successful products for Meijer's own brands through trend research and appealing graphic and industrial design. Through travel and research, generated on-trend color and pattern reports seasonally for each buying team within home and hardlines "own brand". Utilized a combination of my research, knowledge of the target customer, and design skills to create artwork and design for products such as bedding, home decor, camping equipment, and dinnerware. Worked closely with our Global Sourcing Team in Hong Kong to make sure our samples and manufacturing specs met our standards, through collaborative video conferencing, travel and in-person sample testing for material weight and color.
