Participating in a rotational program where candidates perform rotations with various product groups throughout Acuity Brands for intervals of 3 to 6 months.
Generated Concepts and intellectual property surrounding lighting and lighting fixtures. Collaborated with members of a design team to conceive of, and develop novel lighting solutions. Provided subject matter expertise relative to manufacturing methods, product assembly, solid modeling, rapid prototyping, and engineering documentation. Managed individual projects through all phases of. Researched lighting products and applications, materials, manufacturing methods, regulatory requirements and trends.

Designed and conceptualized upper heat sink component for Constructive Occlusion 2.0. Built and modified lighting fixtures for use as sales, engineering and product showcase samples. Collaborated with engineering team to create manufacturable designs for tooling and cost quotes. Presented a cost reduction analysis for RT5D LED fixture that projects a savings of $11,000 to $46,000 for every 4,500 produced fixtures. Completed and submitted various engineering request documents, including photometric and thermal analysis, as well as prototype requests.

Designed and conceptualized the External components of the Spec. Grade Wrap fixture, slated for production in 2011

Fixture concept slated for production in 2012.Managed and created a competitive market analysis that compared product offering of Tersen and ASL to those of its nine leading competitors to expose market opportunities. This document has been used as a template for subsequent groups to do the same in other markets.

Designed end caps for fixture shown at annual company product showcase that was to be both aesthetic and structural. Product is currently in patent application process in US and Canada.
