Jonathan writes content for e-learning software and reviews books for Booklist. A former college English and writing instructor, he has taught courses on grammar and style, fiction, personal narrative, critical writing, ethnography, and professional writing. He has also served as a retail manager, bookseller, copywriter, and editorial assistant. His reviews, interviews, and feature writing have appeared in the Los Angeles Review of Books, Kirkus Reviews, Time Out Budapest, Time Out Chicago, Time Out Chicago Kids, Bookslut, Word Riot, Advantage, and the Mid-American Review, among other publications. He is a former Dwight Follett fellow and MFA graduate in Creative Writing from Columbia College Chicago, where he co-founded Knee-Jerk magazine, an online and print literary journal.
