Product Development-Children’s Apparel
Children’s Apparel Designer for a variety of girl sized product. Categories include knit tops, woven bottoms, dresses and sets. Work closely with PD team and merchant to develop many girls apparel lines on a monthly delivery basis. Primary responsibilites in design with experience in product management. Responsible for researching and creating silhouettes, artwork and prints. Experience traveling to Europe, New York and LA for inspiration, research and print shows. Skilled at conducting trend research, trend presentation and line presentations. Responsible for creating artwork and designs in addition to managing and delegating design diraction to freelancers and design assistants. Knowledgable about fit and construction, fabric qualities, and children’s safety standards.

Assisting senior design staff in the children’s wear department in product development.
Main duties included: flat sketching on Adobe Illustrator, coloring sketches using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, re-coloring prints and artwork, developing artwork, print repeats, detailing artwork, color matching, creating spread sheets, attending meetings, garment measuring, organizing and performing any other assistance as needed. Experience
in newborn/ infant/toddler playwear sets, girls sweaters, dresses, knit tops, woven bottoms.

Preformed intern duties in construction such as hand stitching, machine stitching, pressing, pinning, serging, etc. Learned
important differences between designing for theater and for fashion and developed my understanding of garment and costume construction as well as my skills as a stitcher
