As a Senior Designer, I was brought in as a lighting expert to help grow and expand the Hunter Lighting line as well as design innovative ceiling fans.
Spearhead the design and development cycle for the Hunter Lighting Portfolio and innovative ceiling fans, targeting Core, Big Box, and E-Commerce accounts.
Partner directly with a nationally recognized television personality and designer to conceptualize and launch exclusive, high-visibility lighting collections.
Mentor fan designers on advanced lighting design principals.
Review/approve factory drawings, and inspect prototypes and finish samples in house and at manufacturing facilities abroad.
Drive strategic portfolio planning by creating and maintaining trend analysis research and share out, and comprehensive gap analysis tools.
Manage technical documentation, including creating detailed CAD drawing files for engineering, producing Request For Quote (RFQ) documents which included final material and finish specification.

Perform full life cycle product development. My job responsibilities included presenting hand drawn and rendered concepts to owners, SolidWorks 3D modeling, review/revise CAD drawings as well as installing and reviewing prototypes.

Liaison between marketing and engineering to turn concepts into user centered designs utilizing trade focus and focus group methodologies. Job responsibilities included market research, trend and gap analysis, generating and presenting lighting and ceiling fan concepts, creating digital 3D concepts, building prototypes by hand, creating engineering drawings, installation instructions for manufacturers, and reviewing factory drawings and samples.

- Source, calculate and specify LED arrays and drivers needed for final designs.
- Assembled fixtures for ETL and photometric testing and ETL submission cut sheets.

Hired for a dual position to design lighting and ceiling fans for all channels and to manage lighting products for Lowe’s, Home Depot, and Menards. Job responsibilities included trend research and analysis, product line gap analysis, market analysis, communicating and tracking excel spreadsheets with suppliers, managing PLM data, designing for various price points, creating and managing timelines for the design team.

My job responsibilities included trend research, specifically in-home decor, gap analysis, concept sketching and ideation, SolidWorks 3D modeling and computer rendering, presenting concepts to merchants, and reviewing engineering data as well as prototypes. Knowledge in residential and commercial building code basics required. Trained to conduct trade focus and focus group studies and participated in several studies. UX Design through focus groups.

- Assisted in coordinating, scheduling, and hosting at the planogram facility a large scale focus group for ceiling fan installation from DIY-ers to professional contractors/builders.
