"You want me to help light a Hopper?!?" I said to the MFA's Head Designer as he assigned my first major task upon joining the exhibition design team in the Spring of 2007. He took a chance on my "eye" (and perhaps my good nature and how excited I was to just be there), then just being a fledgling design student at MassArt. Working with the lighting electricians to measure light levels and do roughs for review, along preparators/installers hanging labels, vinyl, and that giant photo of Hopper, was certainly a seminal moment in my design path.
