I am the principal design engineer in the development of exhibit and trade show booths and displays design for customers across a wide variety of fields. Duties include the design, implementation and engineering of booths and trade show displays that meet client’s and marketing team’s specifications. Ergonomics and human interaction are a huge design factors that I use to develop every design. I directly work with fabrication personal directing the construction and completion of all designs. I also work with the graphic design team and collaborate in graphics layout and color determination. I create detail 3D models and renderings for presentation of design to clients and produce engineering drawings for the construction of the design. I am also in charge of ordering materials and parts as required by each individual project. I work directly with a team of marketing experts, sales representatives, graphics designers, and production personal to take every design to completion. I work with outside vendors and providers placing orders for laser and CNC components. With Advent I have taken an important role in the completion of design projects for major corporations including GE, Lufkin, Tesco, Bombardier, Axon, Cameron, Pertamina, Gowell, Resman, Sparrows, MicroSeismic, and POWA amongst many others.

I worked assisting faculty research to develop design ideas and concepts for new product offerings to the arthritis patient community. Collaborated with The Arthritis Foundation Houston Chapter to interview participants of study and research design opportunity.

Consumer goods design for the power tools industry. Creative thinking and visualization of product to improve and innovate new and existing products in the market. The role within the design team permitted the collaboration with marketing and engineering teams as well. For this job it was very important to always be cost conscious and to understand the importance of design economics while trying to obtain the highest quality and best suitable outcome. As in every design team the construction of models and muck ups was also very important in the design learning process at TTI. I worked directly with a skillful team of model makers in order to develop full size models of the tools that made possible to study and better understand the ergonomics involved and the projected human interaction.

Power Tools & Outdoor Products developing new design ideas for The Home Depot and many other retailers. Worked designing and developing products under the Ryobi, Ridgid, Homelite, PowerStroke, and Craftsman brands among others. Reviewed, researched, and evaluated the product landscape translating these findings into new product offerings. Interacted with a talented multidisciplinary team of: product managers, researchers, brand managers, engineers, photographers, marketing associates, model makers, and experienced industrial designers. Facilitated a wide range of support to the design managers and their respective teams. Used design tools as Cintiq tablets and different design and 3D modeling software to communicate design intent. Studied design projects through 2D visual communication, 3D printing and prototype muck ups. Experience working with design and engineering teams preparing assets across all types of digital mediums for production and launch. Worked in a fast paced department contributing with design team. Proficient visual communication skills ranging from sketch ideation, form development, and digital sketching and rendering to sketch modeling and rapid prototyping. Experience in manufacturing for injection moulding and casting, maintaining high design quality for mass production. Studied and solved ergonomic issues for handheld tools and garden equipment.

Concept engineering designer for power tools and outdoor products. Worked with brands like Ryobi, Ridgid and Stok grills. Analysis of tools in the market to propose improvement on existing issues or better tool designs. Provided with proof of concepts for production feasibility and design completion. Built advanced part and surface modeling in Solidworks CAD to communicate ID intent.

Residential high-end storage systems design & construction. Designed furniture specific mechanisms for optimal functionality. Prepared construction drawings by studying specifications and supporting documents; developed a layout of the system, components, and parts; drew multiviews depicting relationship of components; identifying dimensions, angles, curvatures, tolerances, and materials used in production. Modify and revise designs by studying changes, redrawing systems, components, and parts. Resolved discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information, conferring with other designers and production manager.

Junior Engineering Designer for MEP consultant engineers. Analysis of architectural plans to design mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems for apartment buildings construction. Basic knowledge and use of building codes. Evaluate job designing as required by fire Marshall and city engineers. Transfer of drawing files across multiple CAD platforms as needed by our clients.
