Work closely with Product Development director and creative director to discuss season’s design direction; analyze best seller bodies and incorporate best sellers into line plan. Research and develop new styles, fabrics, and trims. Review inventory and propose different options to use up existing inventory
Manage patternmaker WIP, prioritize pattern queue, submit cut tickets for development sample, create tech packs via PLM and submit tech packs to oversea vendors. Manage all development, fit, and duplicate samples.
Create flat sketches and construction detail page, create tech packs via PLM and submit to overseas for proto sample. Identify all details with patternmaker and discuss alternative constructions for a more production and cost-friendly style. Update tech pack on a daily basis; ensure all information pertaining to the style is inputted correctly into PLM before style is adopted into Jesta. Cross-check Jesta to ensure style has been adopted without any errors
Schedule and attend fittings; discuss design revisions with Product Development directors and communicate the changes to patternmaker; issue fit comments 72 hours after fit to prevent delivery delay
Create and manage WIP reports
Fabric Development – research and source new fabric development; review lab dips and strike/offs; issue LD & s/off comments; test fabric shrinkage, color fastness in house to ensure that the consumer will receive the highest quality of goods.
Engineer print layouts to achieve lowest YY; Offer different print lay out solutions to CAD team to better achieve YY
Negotiate CMT/FOB with oversea vendors; maintain company’s margin, offer different cost alternatives for upper management
