Joao is the founder of CityGuru, a website and mobile app dedicated to change the way people visit and tour cities. CityGuru is an Expedia 'Local Expert' and is supported by the Microsoft BizSpark programme. Looking to grow globally, CityGuru is also a featured project in the European Commission's Investment Portal.

United4Information (U4I) undermines misinformation by using a three-step strategy: live tracking of misinformation events, social alerting, and empowering voices. Through a direct visible effect on manipulation and the feeling of community, U4I creates a movement of transparency whenever false information appears.
As Creative Director, I help build a grassroots creative community to fight misinformation using the power of street-art and other creative urban intervention actions.

Joao leads the creative team and is responsible for setting the tone and developing along with the creative staff assignments ranging from simple corporate identity projects to fully-integrated campaigns incorporating both traditional and interactive media. A creative thinker and conceptualizer, he motivates and inspires his co-workers and helps them achieve expectations and overcome obstacles.
An award winner creative, Joao won - amongst other awards - the 'Best Educational Project - Brand & Web' at the Arab Summit 2011 in Abu Dhabi.

Leading a team of 10 designers and copywriters. Reporting to the GM, Joao was responsible for the quality of creative campaigns and dealing with the day-to-day turnaround of creative work, ensuring it was produced on time, on budget and to the highest possible standard. Joao took and helped creating briefs and turned them into strong creative campaigns. He motivated and inspired the design team to help satisfy expectations. In addition Joao worked with both the traffic & production departments to ensure that deadlines were met and that design work was delivered appropriately.
