“I strive to understand and utilize the best current design approaches that incorporate new thinking on; end-user research, problem framing, ergonomics, and sustainability. I am curious about emerging new technologies and how they might enable innovative new solutions in my design projects. I am extremely interested in approaches to design thinking used by leading design organizations such as IDEO and Frog Design. I also keep myself updated with innovations in material and manufacturing processes to incorporate in my designs.
My personal design is grounded in Frank Lloyd Wright’s notion that form and function are one. I also believe that good design is human-centered and have incorporated many research methods to develop an empathy with the target customer to inform my design projects. I strive to take a minimalist design approach in my design development work. I am inspired by natural forms found in nature and use organic design solutions where appropriate.
In addition to my design curriculum, I follow subjects like; Biology, Physics, and Anthropology because these subject areas help me develop a broad and diverse point of view. Finally, I hope to have a design role where I can help improve people’s lives with good design.”
