About
Hi, my name is Mike Hart and I am Industrial Designer located in Tempe, Arizona. I graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2010 with a BFA in Industrial Design. I currently work for The Hillman Group as the Industrial Design on their Advanced Development Team. Most of my prior work experiences have been in the medical and consumer electronics industries. I have also worked as a freelancer in the past to help companies and individuals develop their product ideas. Please feel free to contact me with inquiry's about my work or work experience.

Having studied at a school where both Art and Design majors worked so closely together, a unique environment was created in which creative thinking and design were unified. As an industrial designer I believe in the idea that balance creates harmony much like the balance between Art and Design at SCAD. I always try to apply this concept to my work and my life.

Industrial DesignerAustin, TXJul 2013 - Dec 2019 (6 years 5 months)As a Junior Industrial Design at Ketra I help to conceptualize product designs based on Marking Requirements and Development Road Maps. My primary functions are to help guide brand identity and design language to create a cohesive family of products. I work very closely with several teams including Marketing, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering and Operations to develop each product from concept to final production. Additionally I am responsible for generating user documentation and packaging design for our products.

Industrial DesignerAustin, TXAug 2012 - Mar 2013 (7 months)My time at Kaalo Experience Design was unique in that it exposed me to a consultancy environment where I worked with multiple clients in various industries. My roll at Kaalo challenged me to become familiar with industry standards primarily in the medical and commercial electronics industries. Many of the projects focused on improving the design and functionality of existing products with attention to aesthetic trends and company branding. Several of these projects included creating trend research and brand language presentation for clients.
