I did set-up, programming, and operation of ultra-high precision diamond turning CNC lathes and inspection of microstructures using advanced metrology techniques involving interferometers, profilometers, and confocal microscopes.

I ran the prototype shop for the mechanical engineering product development department. Working with a team of 30-40 engineers and designers I made prototypes and fixtures using CNC & manual machining, 3D printing, sheet metal fabrication, and a variety of other techniques. In addition, I did CAD design using SolidWorks, as well as functional and life testing of prototypes. I managed all aspects of the shop including: work prioritization, materials, tooling, machine maintenance, and procurement of new equipment.

I designed and machined various specialty tools, fixtures, and prototype parts. I was also involved in production process development and supply chain improvement.

I worked on semi-trucks, trailers, cars, and a variety of farm equipment. I was responsible for vehicle work ranging from general maintenance to complex engine and drivetrain repairs. I also regularly machined and fabricated custom parts and tools.

I performed repair and preventative maintenance on a variety of machine tools along with facility maintenance. Additionally, I designed and made specialty tools and replacement parts using metal fabrication, welding, manual and CNC machining.
