Working for Environmental Care, Lighting & Professional NPD, I owned parts and assemblies to take them from a concept, to a manufacturable product. Applying systems thinking and user-centered design approaches.
My role also involved setting performance specifications for my parts and assemblies, develop test methods to prove the performance metrics, and conduct user studies/trials to connect the performance metrics to user satisfaction. All of these working in a multidisciplinary environment, with scientists, electronics, quality & reliability, compliance, human factors and more.

Aurora Lighting is a large group dedicated to provide quality lighting solutions. I work in the Aurora Projects division, where we design, manufacture and deliver lighting innovative and high quality lighting systems and schemes. As part of the NPD team, within the engineering department, I create high volume, standard catalogue products, based on market demand, customer and sales input, and strategy.
I carry the product's full design cycle, from brief, to manufacturing, and occasionally I am involved in the design and development of bespoke solutions for customers.

As part of the product design team, I took projects from briefing, led by market & sales requirements, all the way until engineering. Delivering CAD files to the R&D team who would adjust thicknesses, tolerances and drafts for final production files. Additionally, I designed presentations and photorealistic visuals for fairs.

Tvilight is a pioneer in the development of smart street lighting solutions. My collaboration with them started developing my thesis project “Design of an integrated smart public lighting system”, in which I developed a presence based lighting controller embedded in a street lamp. After that I continued working in the R&D team developing next generation of products through research, prototyping, testing, concept design & styling. Additionally I designed all the installation & user manuals for the whole product range.

I was hired to setup the design department in the metal packaging area, and to kickstart the in-house design and development of products at clients request and also on our own initiative. In this company I developed packaging solutions for chemical, food, and beverage sectors, including clients like Sayer Lack, Del Monte, Capullo oil, etc.

Corners POP designs and manufactures exhibition furniture for large department stores. They have clients such as Estee Lauder, Sony, Lancome, etc.
I worked with Corners POP in two projects. Firstly designing a set of exhibition furniture for Samsung Mexico’s new TV lines. Secondly I designed a set of furniture for a Sony shop in Guadalajara, Mexico. My responsibilities included, design, visualization, fabrication & installation supervision.

CEDAIN is a Mexican NGO dedicated to empower Mexican indigenous communities through their crafts & culture.
As a field researcher, I lived in the small Tarahumara community of Norogachi, Chihuahua, Mexico. Together with 2 colleagues, we made a database of craft-men and women in the area, classified their crafting field by materials & techniques, and we lectured the community in design fundamentals and market innovation.
